Data Engineer

A market leader within strategic analytics is seeking a brand new Data Engineer! Having spent the past 2 years winning countless awards for their work with a client base ranging from tech start-ups to large FS organisations, the team is growing – with Data being next on the list!
  
Off the back of a sustained period of growth, and with a large pipeline of work over the next 24 months – the team are in the market for a Data Engineer to continue to scale the Data Environment.

What you will be doing

• Working with both technical and functional stakeholders to determine data-driven requirements.
• Establishing, implementing and maintaining Data Engineering best practices
• Developing ETL through complex SQL scripting
• Working with various business and technical teams to interpret data and resolve data issues
• Building and optimising SQL queries for various projects
• Identifying data quality issues and designing suitable remediation strategies

What you bring to the role

• Tertiary degree in IT, Science or a related field
• Strong understanding of different database/data warehousing concepts (Kimball, Inmon)
• Extensive SQL knowledge and experience
• Extensive ETL development
• Prior experience programming using Python
• Experience working with Microsoft products such as SQL Server and BI suite and Microsoft Azure (GCP or AWS is experience is also suitable)
