As the newest Data Engineer in the team, you will ultimately be focused on developing and improving data-capturing techniques to drive forward the Machine Learning capability of the businesses. Given the nature of the business and the world-class solutions they are developing, data is being captured from a variety of sensors, different systems and existing ML capabilities.
You will be working closely with the VP, and enjoy a flat org structure. This roughly translates to – “we trust you to smash it, and we won’t be in your way”.

What You’ll Do
- Develop data-capture methods and tests to ensure the effective collection of data from a variety of sources to leverage in Algorithm and Machine Learning development.
- Ensure that data is effectively managed, labelled and prepared
- Develop models to ensure the effectiveness of various sensors and data collection points
- Collaborate closely with other engineering teams to deploy models and ensure the user has access to the required information
- Maintain best practices in Data Engineering and ensure documentation is effectively maintained
- Tertiary degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or a similar field
- 4 + years of commercial experience in Data Engineering, Data Science or Machine Learning
- Strong understanding and experience in Python programming, and a strong level of SQL
- Knowledge of ML Frameworks, including Keras, TensorFlow or PyTorch, and experience with deploying and maintaining models
- Strong business acumen, with experience managing technical and non-technical stakeholder relationships
