We are searching for a Senior DevOps Engineer to join a talented team of people in an established business that has experienced huge success over the past couple of years and are no going through another period of growth.
You will have the opportunity to work in an Australian home-grown, international technology business with a “start-up” mentality. As our ideal candidate, you will be an experienced Devops Engineer / Site Reliability specialist who is currently working for Large organisation with some of the latest Cloud infrastructure environments with GCP; although experience with AWS would also be advantageous.
Our client is currently using Kubernetes, so exposure to this (And/or Docker) would be beneficial as would monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus, although we know as our passionate Devops evangelist, you'll be up for learning new tools quickly, anyway.
Aside from the specific tools, we want to hear about your expertise at designing application architecture in a multi-cloud environment and also, how you have applied your software engineering mindset to Sysadmin environments and methods. You will thrive off of working collaboratively with Agile Product Development teams and take immense pride in the Availability, maintainability and performance of your platforms.
This is still very much a hands-on Engineering role, but with the added responsibility (Certainly at 'Lead' level) for mentoring more Junior Devops Engineers. So if you are already working at Senior level, or you're an experienced Mid-Level Devops with aspirations to move into a higher level, then we want to hear from you.

Key Skills & Technologies
- Strong Software Engineering Experience
- Containerization & Orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform)
- Methodologies (TDD, BDD, Agile, Lean, DevOps)
- CI/CD (Jenkins, Travis, Bamboo, GoCD)
- 5 years experience with most GCP/AWS infrastructure components is important
- Champion DevOps and agile approach to software development and delivery on AWS
- Champion and advocate for cloud best practices
- Coach teams on how to build, deploy, and maintain a serverless system and applications running on GCP / AWS
- Coach how to build and operate monitoring for system and applications to ensure security, availability, reliability, performance, and cost.
- Ensure that underlying design and architecture of GCP/AWS services are well architected
- Familiar with virtualization technology (like VMWare Vsphere)
- Working experience and knowledge of Unix / Linux environments (Sys, Apps, Network admin, etc
- Familiar with data logging/management/streaming technology (like Kafka, ElasticSearch, Fluentd, etc)
- Understanding of monitoring tools (Prometheus, etc)
