Job Description

This is an amazing opportunity for a Lead PHP/ Wordpress/ Full Stack developer to work with some Australian household Sports names to build a brand new platform. You will be working with the business leaders from scoping out the technology to building and launching the platform.

 
Responsibilities:
  • Project Delivery: the day-to-day responsibility for technical aspects of a project, working with the Business Leaders
  • Analysis and Design: understanding of both functional and non-functional requirements to produce well-designed software, including the ability to communicate your design to others including clients
  • Software Development: construction and testing of software components to a high standard 
  • Quality Assurance: understanding of system test plans and system testing. Eliciting and documenting System Functional and Non-Functional Requirements
Candidates must have the following technical experience:
  • Knowledge of and experience in JavaScript, jQuery, HTML/XHTML and CSS
  • Strong Object Oriented skills
  • Thorough understanding of the fundamentals of computing, e.g. logic, data structures, algorithms, low-level architecture, systems infrastructure, network stack, etc.
  • Experience working in an Agile team
  • Experience with one or more unit test frameworks
  • Exposure to continuous integration, build tools and scripting
  • Use of source code version control using tools such as Git, Subversion or Mercurial
 
Exposure to any of the following would be highly desirable:
  • Frameworks such as Symfony, Zend, Laravel and CodeIgniter
  • CMS exposure Wordpress & Ad Servers
  • Experience consuming RESTful services
  • Experience of other languages such as Java, Python or C#
  • HTML5/CSS3,LESS/SASS, AngularJS
  • Other JavaScript libraries such as Backbone, Knockout or Ember
  • Web/network application frameworks such as Node.js, Flask, Tornado. Understanding of non-blocking I/O
  • Experience consuming RESTful services
  • Automated testing including unit, integration and end-to-end testing
  • Selenium (or similar) knowledge/experience
  • Working with Agile project administration systems such as Jira
  • CI systems such as Jenkins, Hudson, Teamcity
  • Good knowledge of SQL or NoSQL databases
