Data Analyst

We are looking for a Data Analyst to join a growing team for a leading specialist insurance business based in North Sydney.

As the new Data Analyst, you will partner closely with teams across the business to deliver Analytics and Reporting to continue to provide leading insurance products. 

What You'll Do 

• Undertake simple ad-hoc reporting/analysis tasks to provide insights and recommendations to the pricing function to drive business outcomes
• Working with internal stakeholders to develop new BI reporting to enable the business to understand business performance at a more granular and deeper level as well as to assess the effectiveness of implemented business initiatives and strategies
• The provision of regular standard data extracts for reserving and pricing including improvement of the data asset and acting as the key contact for Actuaries with respect of data meaning and usage
• Have a good understanding of the pricing process, the Actuarial outputs, results and messaging and be able to explain the results to the Executive
• To act as the pricing liaison with ICT, particularly about rating engine developments
• Leading certain pricing projects, driving changes, and ensuring they happen. 
• Streamlining and automating manual processes where possible, liaising with ICT as required.

What You'll Bring

• Strong analytical, reporting, and problem-solving skills
• Strong attention to detail - Methodical in the management of data, reports, tools, and presentations
• Excellent presentation and communication skills – verbal and written
• Highly competent with Python, SQL and Power BI
• Numerical-focused Bachelor’s degree - either Finance, Commerce, Mathematics, Statistics or similar
• Experience in General Insurance is required
• Ideally 2-3 years of experience working in similar roles

This will be a challenging role, however, you will be rewarded with a strong remuneration package, as well as a bonus reflecting the value you have added to the business.
  
Please note - candidates must be based in Sydney as you will be in the office 4 days per week with the other 1 WFH. Full and unrestricted working rights are also required for this role.
