Senior Data Engineer

Contract opportunity for a Senior Data Engineer to continue to grow the data practice at a leading Australian bank.

As a Senior Data Engineer, you will utilise your Big Data engineering skillset to build, deploy and maintain data pipelines that meet the requirements of your business-facing stakeholders. You’ll be contributing to a high performing team and will be instrumental in mentoring the junior engineers as well.
  

What You’ll Do

• You will design and develop Big Data solutions that can be easily scaled
• You will have a strong focus on stakeholders and the requirement gathering process
• You’ll be able to mentor junior developers and help them overcome challenges faced in their roles
• You will be able to collaborate closely with other technical teams
• You will thrive in an agile, cloud environment 

  
Who You Are:

• Tertiary degree in IT, Science or a related field
• Strong experience working with AWS S3 and Redshift (other cloud tech is also great!)
• Strong experience (3+ years) across Hadoop, Spark and Hive
• A passion for agile
• Strong experience with CI/CD tools and processes
