Job description

Our Client, a leading Australian Retailer is looking for an SEO Specialist.
 
The SEO Specialist is a newly created position within the eCommerce team with the initial focus being centred around establishing the operating model both internally and with the 3rd party agencies as well as setting out the mid and long-term strategic direction.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Create an SEO strategy and roadmap working with third-party partners to drive execution.
  • Utilization of customer data to continuously improve SEO and direct traffic to relevant pages as well as recommendations on content for websites.
  • Ability to identify SEO problems or inhibiting factors, diagnose the root cause and devise effective intervention.
  • Create dashboards to report on performance, drive action and present back to management.
  • On-page optimisation and Off-page optimisation. All associated steps, including website structure, Technical SEO, keyword analysis, Meta tags, titles, submissions, traffic analysis and rank optimisation etc.
  • Leveraging competitor research to help understand gaps and areas of focus.
  • Deep understanding of building organic traffic and improving Search Engine Result Pages.
  • Build cross functional relationships and processes with the Copy Writing, Marketing and Product teams to leverage relevant skill sets and establish a co-created content road map to drive performance.
  • Identifying and implementing strategies for increasing website traffic through organic search listings without being blacklisted.
  • Establish a relevant operating model with the 3rd party agency.
  • Research and identify URL architecture, page errors, content and navigational issues, and other factors that impact the technical performance of a website.
  • Establish on page keyword strategy and implement appropriate Headline strategy.
  • Work with the Paid Search team to establish a blending search point of view.
  • Educate the wider team on SEO and work collaboratively to drive a good operational model to drive engagement across multiple teams.

Skills you will have:

 
  • 3-5 years agency or client-side experience in an SEO role
  • Experience working directly with retail brands
  • Proven track record of successful SEO campaigns and can articulate strategy and a path to success within search engine optimization
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing content strategies that drive relevant traffic to client websites
  • In-depth knowledge of current SEO tools and practices.
  • In-depth knowledge of Google Algorithms & Google Analytics
  • Knowledge of site information architecture best practices
  • Experience in developing and presenting strategies to key stakeholders and being able to tune into the audience’s level of understanding
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong leadership qualities and a desire to consistently improve the quality of work delivered
  • Experience working in multiple international markets and the complexities that bring to the site structure and content structure
  • High energy, outgoing, motivated can-do attitude
